I was reading thru this story.
And I know I have to share it.
Its quite a nice visual description by this web designer and I simply love it.

Finding the solution

I have been involved in a Design review meeting for the past 2 days now. There is 2 more days to go before it officially close. The reason behind this long meetings is to sit down with the contractor to work out on a viable design that meets all our purpose. And I do love to make things simpler.
Which brings me to this other story I heard about. During the space race, ball point pen do not work well in zero gravity. The US scientist set out to design a pen that has pressurize ink and better ball points to allow for their astronauts to work in space. The Russian just gave their guys some pencil.
And that reminds me of another story. Lightning protection is essential for any metal structures and expose cables. The danger lies in laying long length of cables connecting one equipment to another across an over space. The longer the distance spaced apart, the higher the potential differences of which the current would flow. (geek talk beware).
The question posed by my lecturer was how to protect this equipments. He was looking for an answer in the line of laying metallic cable trays that would eliminate the potential differences. However when he looked at me for an answer, I simply reply that all they have to do is to disconnect the cables during a lightning storm. I kinda stun him a little.
But thats not all, my colleague bested my answer when he recommend that the equipment use wireless transmission. I applauded.

Megan Fox ... and the rest of the ugly transformer
Dont get be wrong. I am a huge Transformer fan. The original series and the Next generation rocks. The Jap took a different direction from there and though the toys look decent, they made the robots too noble warrior like. It lacks the edge of a soldier-style fighting a massive war.
And while I gave the Transformer 1 movie the benefit of the doubt and caught it, I am so not paying to watch the sequel. The first movie made me realise why Michael Bay was the wrong director. For the simplest reason that he alone never caught any of the cartoon series and probably hated it.
The story was dumb. I thought I was watching a slapstick comedy. The animation was somewhat good, though the robot characters appeared to be stupid. The only saving grace I feel was the discovery of Megan Fox.
And judging from this 10 sec shot of her changing, I may consider..... watching this movie.

Lost
There are few "drama" series that kept me waiting in anticipation of the next episode. Lost is such one of them. And after 5 seasons spanning 5 years (in TV time its just about 3 years, exclusive of the jump back 20 years part), Lost still kept me entertain.
What started out as a plane crashed onto a deserted island (season 1) has led to the encounter of the Others (season 2), before the battle and fight for survivable (season 3), to the escape from the island (season 4) and now the return of it (season 5). And this is on top of a setting of a mystical island of unknown power and origins.

Just one of the things I like about this show is that they have an extensive set of casts that formed various unique characters. This give the viewers the weekly option to understand each of their characters back stories and personalities.
Not to mention there is also the writers' readiness to kill off characters and include new ones. Definitely interesting to see how they play out.

Of them all, I admire Sawyer the best. A thief, a crook and a winner with many of the girls. How not to like him.

Nerf gun

While at Inky's place, I chanced upon a new toy he has. Its a Nerf gun and its soo cool.
He even try to shoot at the girls, attempting to wist across their hair. Thought I thought it came close to their face. And yes, he try to shoot at me later when I had fired away on his precious moment Tatty Teddy bear.
The one below is the ultimate weapon. It almost make you feel like John Rambo.
Now if I had that, I would definitely fine tune it just a little (a)
Yakult intolerant

You probably heard of and also know those whom are lactose intolerant. Well I might be the first Yakult intolerant.
Seems like every time I take it, my stomach would have a meltdown.
Sighs.... Why must they make something so tasty to be something I cannot take.
Maggi mee

I have a strong urge to cook a package of maggi noodles now.
Part of me is hungry. And the cause is unknown considering I did eat plenty today.
The other part of me is craving for hot noodles in salty soup.

Another blood donation

I donated blood once again on Monday. Frankly I have no idea how many times that would have been. You cant really keep track anything more than 5 these days.
Anyway, my iron (Hb) count for this donation was about 13.4. Its by no means high and for a couple of years now it has been the only obstacle to prevent me from giving more.
I believe it was 5 years back when my iron count was below 10. The nurse wont let me donate for the fear that I may become anemia. The cause for this... well I dont really know. Considering I never have any of the known causes.
My only guess was that I been a regular blood donor and after each sessions, I do not take care of my body well enough. Skipping on the necessary supplements and so on.
To date, I been turn away from donation a total of 3 times (its less than 5). I strive to keep it as that. Maintain my health and strength.
Oh and in other news Both Crayfish that I have at home and at work are dead. The cause of death is unknown. I suspect that they were properly in poor health before I even bought them. Guess I wont be going back to this shop any more.

Congrats dude

My close friend, NS buddy, colleague and weekly spiritual brother has finally proposed to his girlfriend.
It was an eventful day which he kept telling me in details of what he plan to do, what would be her expected reaction and so on. I can tell that he is jumpy and cant wait to for the moment to arrive.
All the best to you dude. The expressway has officially began for you.
Farewell Amber

It finally happened. I took Amber to the phone shop just by my place. She was examined thoroughly and I am offered $220. I took it and just leave. Its perhaps not the best deal but I din want to drag it.
Earlier on, I thought of advertising Amber online. I tried but the online auction failed to send me a verification email for me to register. I gave up there and saw an ad by a guy claiming to offer high price for all phones and would gladly come by my place.
I sms him, describing Amber and asking a quote. He spoke in broken English and ask me abt the price. I said 250 which he sorta said ok.... and ask to meet in the east instead. I aint exactly convince by his offer. Got a feeling I would be offered less and made to travel all the way down.
From the auction, I saw several offers for Amber's sibling. They were all stated at $300 with no bids placed. Starhub offered $200 as a trade-in, which became my baseline.
Anyhow, I hope Amber finds a better place. 4 visits to the service center is just too much. Production quality has definitely plague this product.

The Bigger Prank

An incident in office trigger me to write this.
An innocent colleague whom seated near me was blasted by his boss just after lunch. There wasnt any profanity spoken but the tone used was rather harsh. A tone one would describe as insulting and demeaning.
The poor kid perhaps made a slight oversight. Or maybe just that he did not follow this idiot of a boss instruction to the detail. Regardless the case, he is still an adult and does not deserve the shouting.
I was in no position to step in. I do not know this kid, nor the manager personally. The loud mouth gave one last scolding before walking away. As I sat there quietly, I began to hear sniffing. This I dismissed it initially to be just the bad air or possibly flu.
Just then, I heard a loud sniff and knew its has nothing to do with the air. The kid was fighting back his tears, not to let others know of his emotions. As a man to another man, I know that he needs his space. Comfort and words would not help him at this moment. He just need time to settle his heartbeat and pick up the pieces to fight again.
(And yes if this happens to a female colleague, I wont sit still)
At this particular day, there is also wind of a possible security check. We were advise (indirectly) by our Deputy Dir that we should be more careful with our stuff. With that said, I kept all documents and would be dumping this laptop into the cabinet later.
Chatting with my friend, we thought it would be fun to PUNKED the security people. Shall we get a TOP SECRET file and fill it with junk and mark Happy April Fools and such? Sensing our dislike for BJ101, we thought of dumping this prank on his desk.
However, the better idea would be to dump this prank on that manager desk. It would be a sweet revenge

The Cray
After months of deliberation, I decided its time for a change.
In my office mini tank, there left a handful of cherry prawns from the 20 that came many moons ago. Not to forget the 4 expensive CRS that die out without any reason. I highly suspect that the food I have been using (given to me by a colleague who is RPO-ing) might have been the cause for this. I am not sure, but I am changing the food.
In my Home larger tank, there survive 5 Danios and 1 cory. The danios are slowly dying off one by one, largely due to old age. At the moment, one of them is showing signs of illness. It has a blob at its side and unable to swim well. The friends of her has taken this chance to nibble on her fins. I suspect it wont last the week or even tonight.
I guess it time for a change. I am planning to get a couple of crayfish. These slow moving critters and rather different from the fishes. They can survive for a long time without food and basically feed on any stuffs.
However they do have the problem of being night walkers. I do have to make sure that they do not find a way to escape from either of my tanks.

The Prank
Since this is April Fool day, I would no doubt play a part in it. So far, I have pull off 2 mini pranks
1. Put a fake cockroach in the cracker box. Awaiting for a hungry colleague to be surprise
2. remove the telephone cable and loop it through the cup handle before reconnecting it.
Sadly both my pranks required my colleagues to be in office and they are not. So if they are PUNKED tomorrow, does it still counts as April Fool?

Honda's Secret
Honda, the company that started selling Bikes before building cars and venturing into Robot (Asimo) and not to forget hyper space engine for the Millennium Falcon, has a secret to success. Its simple really, you just have to Fail.
Looking through this 8 hrs mins of clip, I cant help but agreed. Failing does make you learn from your mistakes and only makes you stronger. It creates this awareness you have that you probably misjudge earlier.
Hopefully we all could take something back from this. Knowingly that in our life we made decision daily. Some good, some bad. A change of path, a change of fate. we learn and impart.

Sending Amber away
Amber,
I hope you understand. This is not you. Its me.
I was attracted to you at first sight. I had long for you the moment I saw you on the Net and the papers. You were the one whom I lusted for and I waited in a long queue just to own you.
However it seems we are not really that compatible. Although you are smarter and more sophisticated than Aileen, you were not as faithful.
Aileen suffered her loss of sight for me. Her sacrifice was noble and she stayed with me like a faithful wife sticks to her lusty sinful husband. I know its hurtful to say this but you became a plaything for me. A mistress with all her beauty that I would only be with during the weekend.
Your will is also lacking. At times you are not able to last more than a day before complaining of the need to rest and recharge. Though I enjoy surfing the web with you, I simply could not enjoy the moment to last for a mere short while.
I do hope you could forgive me. I would have to let you go. You deserve someone better. Someone who admires you for more than I do.
Goodbye now. Its been a nice 8 months together.

Bike trip
Following the ~2 mths after my 40km OCBC cycle challenge, I embarked on a trip with my colleagues on a less challenging but not the least taxing trip of our own.
The plan is to start from the Mac at ECP and ride up all the way to Changi village for lunch. Sounds simple enough doesnt it :P
Well life has a funny way to tease you. We venture off about 11am. The sun who was hiding earlier was now showing its true colour (or brightness). I had left my sunglasses tucked away, thinking it would rain.... I was wrong... well partially at least.
For the morning trip to CV, we took a longer route which suppose to bring us to Bedok Reservoir, though we kinda miss it. The sun was so hot that my bottle of isotonic drink were gone and I ended up getting a 1.5ltr bottle at the petrol kiosk.
In total I am guessing that we took 20km just to get there. I could be wrong. The journey felt longer.
After lunch, we decided to take a leisure pace back to our start point. Sad to say, we were challenged by the weather. I noticed the dark clouds and knew it would pour in 10 mins.
It then drizzle and rain and pour and lightning..... We were lucky to retreat to a bike kiosk who were happy to have us around. We were probably there for ard an hour. I noticed the sky was clearing and we decided to take off to make up for the loss time.
The crazy thing was that, the rain clouds was just waiting for us. The moment we moved off, it drizzle and rain and...... I was so soaked that my shoes were collecting water.
The journey back is ard 19km. But it felt forever. Its harder to paddle. Its harder to open our eyes. Its harder to see in front and I nearly went head on to another biker.
we finally arrived back, wetter than ermm wet water. It was about 6 hrs since we begin and our legs, back, arms were all aching. My back was also burn from the lack of sunblock.
Perhaps next time we shall do night Cycling.

Chrome experiments
Chrome is a browser created by the family friendly people from Google. I had tried it and it seems like a potential to replace Firefox. Though I would strongly stick by it, till that day comes.
Anyway, to provide its fabulous browser. Google has set up a couple of experiments, which they browser can do and maybe yours cant.
I have used Firefox 2 to test them out and seemingly, this last generation still can hold its own.
I dare you to try using IE.

Jogging routes
After 6 months or so since I cleared my IPPT and returned to regular jogging, I had began to find that the usual path I took too be a little short. Perhaps its due to my better fitness level. Perhaps its due to the boredom. I might never know for sure.
As such, I began to try out a different route just 2 days back and I am loving it. I guess I would be sticking to this for a while now.

Unicon Gundam
I always been a big fan of the Gundam, though sadly I only started catching their stories in the last couple of years. I would have like to return to the beginning and catch the stories, which lead to the formation of the present day ideology. And I also know it would be rather difficult to do so.
Aside from that, I kinda started on the gundam modeling. It sure is a challenge to complete this babies. At the moment I am eyeing this particular design. Its known as the Unicorn Gundam. No relation to the Transformer Unicorn.
It is currently available at 100+ at the taka Gundam fair and perhaps I may pick it up this weekend.

Update: taking advantage of a 20% discount at the Gundam Fair, I am now $83 poorer and happier with the outcome.

Davidoff again

After suffering for months since the espresso machine been replace and that I have to settle for 3in1 shitty mixtures, I have took the effort to once again go for gold.
As I had mention previously, nothing beats a good cup of coffee. Especially in the sleepy afternoon or after a long tiring work session (I had 30 min session of work, where I sprint continuously before breaking for a few short mins)
Davidoff coffee, what would I do without you.

cupcake
Lately, I been interested in baking. I probably have no idea how this fascination came about. Perhaps it might be due to my interest in cooking, or that I like things sweet, or maybe I just love to use my friends and family as experiment for my creations.
I might never know...
Anyway, I baked my first creations today. I cheated by using a premix from Hershey. Just 3 simple steps it seems.
1. Mix oil, water, eggs with the premix
2. Stir well
3. Pour into mold and bake
And knowing me.... I never like to follow the ingredient totally and have to be more creative. I added almonds to the mixture, stir some milk into whipped cream (JD's imagination of Charlie's Choc Factory) and sprinkle some rainbow treats.
To play safe, I made 3 batches of 2 cupcakes. The first batch when into my oven for 23 mins. It was alright but there is a lack of a nice top as my oven doesnt have a top fire.
As such the 2nd batch when into my toaster. It turn out to be a beauty after only 12 mins. The toaster is alot hotter but sadly as the metal mold could not fit into it, they were deform.
Finally, the engineer in me decided to make the best of both worlds. I baked the final batch in the oven for 10 mins, then placed them into the toaster for another 7 mins. To preserve the shape, I left the door of the toaster open in order to fit the mold.
As it turns out, it was just about nice.
Oh btw, I din end up putting the whipped cream and sprinkling it with the rainbow bits. As I was waiting for the baking, I whipped the liquid milk (by hand) alittle too much. It was whipped cream after like 6-7 mins, but after 10 mins water was separating from it and it became butter.
I guess I learn how to make butter as well. yum.

Tea

I have been known as an avid coffee drinker.
Finishing 2-3 cups a day of varies blew.
Detesting the 3in1 instant coffee mixture.
Big fan of the Nespresso (not much of George Clooney)
However every now and then, I appreciate a nice warm cup of tea. The soothing smell it releases provides a calming presence as I work. It allows the mind to relax, breaks away the tension. The taste rinses away the nastiness of the lingering lunch. The warm composure fights the mild chill of the dry air.
I do fancy the aromatic earl grey. perhaps I could consider getting a decent tea press and use proper leaves, instead of the relying in the convenience of a tea bag. Perhaps maybe perhaps.

Skynet and my Amber
There is a website that appears to be introducing us to a security system, infamously know as Skynet.
For those who look at the name and din think much, you probably are not of a Sci-fi fan. But for those who do, can you imagine the effort that is going into making the Terminator 4 movie and its franchise. Its one hell of a marketing campaign I think.
Check out this ad for a security system
Oh and if you visit the website, go to the products page and move your mouse over the word PRODUCT. It would open a password box. At this moment, no one knows the password.
Cool aint it.
PS. I am thinking of saying goodbye to Amber. Let me know if you are keen.

New Kia Cerato Forte
I absolutely love the new Kia marketing campaign where they ask us to guess what car it is. It teases us with the possibility that it is build by Italian, German or French.
Interestingly they did not mention the Japs as that would definitely be a tough comparison to be made with.
Also as interesting is that they left out the American whom I would say made cars suitable for 3rd world now.

1. Mosquito
2. Angelina Jolie
The previous were
5. Beijing 101
6. Shrek

8. Ms Bombastic (hor loba loba)
Now I hope they never find this blog

1 Crystal Red Shrimp left
I have been taking care of my prawns tank in the office much more than the tank at home. Sadly, the population of the CRS and Cherry shrimp have both suffered several losses.
I cant recall when... but I gotten my first batch of 5 CRS and they all grew to adult in this tank. However I now left with just 1 of them. I do know that some would definitely die off naturally, but well its rather sad to see just 1 survivor (the 4th one die today)
I noted that my tank is starting to smell. May have to look into this. Anyway, I think I may save my money and invest it in the Cherry shrimps. After all, they cost 1/3 of the price.

Proud of my CB
ok for those who doesnt know me that well, the CB (points to the header) is not what you think it is. Though I most certainly am proud that I dun have one.... but this is not the point of the entry. CB here referred to my Chocolate Bunny. And unless you are a fan of Scrubs, you wont truly understand the meaning of Guy Love
ANYWAY..... I am happy that my CB has completed the 40km OCBC cycle challenge. I would have love to cycle alongside with him but well, I have to go at a slower pace to take care of someone.
I do hope CB would keep up the momentum he has started and bike on a regular basis. Perhaps one day he may cycle up to my door steps and surprise me.
In any case, I do hope to be able to cycle down and meet him at Carl's Jr one day for supper. Would have been worth it to cover a great distance before enjoying our bacon burger with double patties.
This is what I mean by Guy Love.

I seldom post any techie stuffs for a long while, but this is something that tickles me.
This is just a concept (prototype) of the possibility of having a rechargeable battery with solar cells capabilities.

I thought this is one neat idea. Brilliant aint it

Born Old
The funny thing when I started this post was that I intend to talk a little about Benjamin Button and how he grew younger.
But the main thing I needed was a commercial I saw of a Car on TV. I had wanted to use that as a interesting element to help me with this post. But sad to say, I search youtube high and low and could not find it.
I thought it was a commercial on Mercedes Benz, but I couldnt find it. So I search BMW, Audi and volkswagen. After all I am quite sure its a European car commercial. ALl return to be futile. Alas I gave up on searching as well as writing that post. YOu just have to trust me that this is one hell of a good movie.
PS. The ads goes something like this.
"We should all be born Old, take the first few years off. ....... And in our Prime we buy a car...."
oh well...

Blading down the ECP
It was a lovely Sunday afternoon. The sky was bright, with a gentle breeze coming from the sea beyond. The sights at the ECP was beautiful. Crowd of family gathering, the kids running around endlessly, the girls in their bikini top passing by. Ah yes, ECP is a nice place to spend the afternoon indeed.
I took the opportunity to blade and parked the car at the carpark closest to Ford road. It has a nice gentle slope that leads to the cycle/blade track and would mean and easy time for me to put on my blades and gears before heading for the long sprint.
Its been about 1 year since I attempt this challenge to master the straight wheelers. Not an easy task since I had no specified training. I just put it on and find my balance. Letting the wind or slope dictate my direction initially (i kid)
Now I am able to move fairly well. Able to stay on 2 feet and not on my butt or back. I just need a little more time and little more confident. Quite sure I would be able to get up to speed and not let everyone overtake me.
Just at the resting point, somewhere before Bedok Jetty, where I probably have slided and scraped through 5km. I came to realise that I am running late. I need to be back fast and decided to attempt racing back in my blades asap. And it was a silly move.
I bladed like never before. Its no longer a leisure pace which I started off from. I had to blade fast and blade nonstop. At the midpoint, somewhere passing the Mac, I felt the strain and the pain in my feet were developing. Much like the Std Chart Run, I bite the bullet and held on.
I reach back my car in 40 mins. Remove the blades and jumped in. Started the engine and drove off. Reached the traffic lights and checked my feet. Saw the blisters and sighed. All in all, I thought I did not bad. But well, I shall never attempt this again.
Oh and there were a couple of cars racing down the ECP (expressway part). They were reving rather loudly. I din managed to catch a glimpse, but could have guess that he might look something like this.

Life changing decisions
There are times when you have to make decisions that may affect the life of others.
In a "unrelated" news, I have transferred the big filter meant to push out 300 liters of water per hour from my home tank to my mini prawns tank at work.
I turned down the knob to the absolute minimum so as not to cause too much turbulent in the tank. And it just pushing out maybe 30 lit/hr at the moment.
This would help with the flow of water, clear up the dirt and most of all introduce air to the water.
Just to give you an idea of the size. 2 of this filters would be the size of my tank. So basically it looks like I strapped a giant turbo charge engine onto a mini cooper.
Like Jeremy Clarkson might say, Whats the worst that could have happen.

to be 30
I get this remark from my mom a couple of years back. She said to me when I was 26, that when she was my age, she was already carrying me.
and it gets better.
Throughout the CNY along with a younger cousin's wedding a week before that. I have been bombard by questions from my worrying aunts on my possible future.
"Should settle down soon."
"Dont wait too long."
And to top it off, my younger cousin presented me an ang pao even though she is only married for 1 week.
Well I know that I am not getting any younger. Secretly wishing I have the powers of Benjamin Button (opening this week). But life is not all about finding the one, settling down and having kids.
I am comfortable with where I am now. I have worked for 3 years on the same job. It gives me chances to seen parts of Europe. And yet there are still plenty more I wish to do. (ok lets not drag this part)
And when it comes to finding the right one, this is not the simplest task. Its not like I would stop at a Vietnamese Bridal shop and pick a SYT to be my wife.
In fact, I have seen too many cases of friends who tie the knot, only to find out that they are not suitable. Perhaps they were too into the thought of the wedding that they do not foresee the married life.
Anyway, there is a time and place for everything. And I know for myself when this would be. It may take a while, or it could happen the very next week. But nevertheless I would know when it is the time for a change.
Till then, I would just hope to enjoy watching Brad Pitt grew younger.
For those who born in 1979

As proven by Axis of Awesome, you just need 4 chords to write any hit song.
Oh and 1 more thing, I was tickle by Wu Bai who sang this song last night. He is one renowned Chinese rocker and the only reason I could see him writing and singing this song is to embrace the retro era he grew up in..... (伍佰-你是我的花朵)

Long exposure

I have plenty of friends out there who enjoy photography and enjoy capturing the ideal shot.
You might want to try long exposure, if you have the time.
(yes I know that I am sooo funny)

no more ants
![]()
After setting up to poison the ants, I realise I was fighting a losing battle. There are simply too many of them. You kill one, they bring send two more to replace that guy.
Also the poison only works if I place it outside the ants nest. Which is a mystery to me as the I scan high and low and cant find it.
And then I turn to google for remedy. I was initially looking for those natural remedies like cinnamon powder which puts off most insects. But a forum I visit commented that the simplest way is to use some liquid soap and rub a little on the affected areas.
I took some and thinly coated the sides of my desk. There were still ants on my table when I started this and I notice they avoid these areas. The very next day, I notice my ants problems are gone. Simple and easy indeed.
You shld try too

Poverty Circle

There are those who are born rich. Not a worry in the world. And there are those who are not as fortunate. Who find surviving in this modern society to be a daily challenge.
I had this theory and perhaps its already written by some great socialist or some MBA business guru. This theory, I shall call it the Poverty Circle.
In a poor family, a kid was born. He grew up with little to be provided for him. There is barely any books to read, toys to play and allowance to spend. As he grows up to his teens, he would wonder why is there a need to study. Looking at his family, they are never educate well. Looking at his group of friends, family and neighbors, his surrounding even, they give an image that poverty is a norm. Without a doubt this became his yardstick.
And as such, he forsake his education. Stopped studying and began work young. The hundred and perhaps first thousand of dollars became his motivation. He began to assume that it was a wise choice to quit school. Sadly as the years goes back, this became a mistake on his part.
He was soon overtaken by others. Others that hold a paper qualification that the modern society values, while he has been standing still all this while. Lack of awareness has led to a lack of ambition. He knows he is poor but doesnt know what he can do about it. He doesnt blame himself nor his family. He merely get used to the idea that this is his life.
As time waits for no man, he became older and reckon its time to form a family. He might meet someone, who would accept his ways of life. Merely because she herself has already believe that life is such as well. Romance, Marriage, Kids....
And the cycle repeats.
I am writing this as I thought of a close friend of mine. He is trapped in this, and I am attempting to help him break free of it. For the past couple of years, I been giving him handouts to get by with the small obstacles he has. But I couldnt possibly do this forever. I need him to be strong enough to carry on, on his own. I need him to be financially stable. I need him to leave that circle.
And I hope he do someday.

Palm Pre

The Current line up of SE phones has nothing to tempt me. Sad to say, cos I am not too thrill with Amber.
Perhaps its time to look into another maker and in this case, another OS too. Palm has release the Palm Pre and it looks to be the real iPhone killer. Unlike the WinMobile upstart, the Pre appears to be promising.
I adore the Palm OS for years now. Its maybe time for a good switch.
pumping iron

Just last year, I came to realise that I was pretty unfit. Back in 2007, I managed to pass my IPPT on my 2nd attempt, but last year I simply couldnt. After 4 tries, I was resigned to the fate that I had to do my RT. However with a stroke of luck and the wondrous loop hole of the IPPT system, I managed to take my IPPT once more after my birthday, in my camp, and gotten Silver for it.
(That simply overrides the last failed attempt and in fact, I wont have to take my IPPT till 2010.)
However instead of taking a 2 years break till my IPPT window opens again, I decided that its time for some changes. After the Std Chart run in Dec 08, I know that I had to retain my fitness level and perhaps improve on it.
Just last week, I re-start my gym membership at SAFRA. Its no high class gym and doesnt offered as much services as Gayish California, but I am happy that I can simply walked to it. And the best part, its clean and never too pack.
I have signed up for a 6 month period and would review it at the end of it. At the moment, I need to condition myself. So it would be just light workouts and short runs. Perhaps in Feb, would I start to push myself. Would be getting heavier weights and setting faster speeds on the treadmill. Well that just the initial plan.
The best part of working out, is the relaxation after it. A nice 10 mins in the steam room, another 10 mins in the Jacuzzi and round off with a nice warm bath. I would be delighted to repeat the rigorous training routine.

For a week or more perhaps. My desk have little tiny ants crawling around. They are exploring and looking for food.
The funny thing is that I do not eat on my desk and neither does it have any food stuffs. SOOOOO why the hell does this little scavengers want to check out my area.
Nevertheless, I would go get those ants killer and poison them all.

Shortening the mozzie life
Some scientist have found that if they could shorten the life of a mosquitoes, it would make them less likely to carry deadly disease and infect us humans. I guess what they probably mean was that there would be less adult mosquitoes ard to bite us all.
Interestingly, they did this "life changing experience" by introducing a parasite that would shorten a typical 40 days lifespan to just 15 days.
Now I was just thinking out loud that wont this parasite mozzie be biting us within their 15 days and in turn, we gotten their life changing experiences. These scientists probably din count on that to happen.

The apple keynotes

From 1998 to 2008, the great Steve Jobs (one of the few American I do respect) stood on the stage that is the Macworld and thrill audiences all over.
Was it his showmanship, his charisma or just his presence that makes each and every keynote a memorable event?
For me its all of the above.
Here are a walk through of them all. Enjoy the interesting product he releases along the way. Including the silly iMac mouse.
