Haunted house fireworks
This piece of firework art, inspire by the haunted house theme, is captivating.
I recall Shups! loves fireworks.
Blue Sky Blue
The funny thing about life is that you only appreciate things when you lose them. Take for example, the old photos lying around on your desk. How often would you look at it? Do you recall when is the last time you bother to dust it? You probably wont remember.
However when one day comes and you realised that its gone. Its probably too late. You might not have the negatives to do a reprint.
This is same as Life. We are all living our life as we wanted (well at least we try to). Sometimes in the busy periods, we neglect our close friends and loved one. And though it might be a week, a month or a few month before we get back in touch with them. Lots of things could have happened in the space. But all this is nothing much could be help, I guess.
Last week, I met with an incident. Downplaying the fact that it is actually an accident. There was a serious injury to a 3rd party and I was just next to him. I wont go into details but I would elaborate the thoughts that gone through me.
I only realised that I could have died 3 hours after the incident. After which, I stood alone shaking. My mind simulate on what could have happen. And I would only say, I was damn lucky that day. It took a further 3 days later before I could calm down from it all. Though I would say the phobia might stick with me for a while.
Its then that I did the thing lots of dying people talked about. I started to look around my suroundings and appreciate the moment.
I looked at the blue sky and saw the massive clouds covering it. The shapes it made amuse my imagination. I looked at the rain and saw it pouring endlessly. The droplet, the chilly feeling and the spluttering sounds are just beautifully crafted together. I saw many things in fact. Too many to just describe here.
Life is quite a beautiful experience. Do take time to enjoy the moment.

snail? i found the problem
These are the little problem in my tank. To paint you a full picture, I have not been in office much lately. Yes I have been out way too often, almost 4.5 days a week. And I came back yesterday and notice that those darn snails have somehow found their way into my tank.
After some investigation and research. its likely they came from my plan and now number in tens. I read online that they are pest and would feed on my plant. Unlike other types which feeds on algae.
Well the only good news is that they din came from my fish poop.

snails?
I got like 5-10 mini water snails in my tank. Have totally no idea where they came from.
They are really small. like the size of my fishes eyes. i am tempted to scope them up and dump them away.
could they came from, my fishie poops, the food i been feeding them, the water plants or could Life simply find a way into my tank.....
In any case, Escargot anyone?

Adding numbers
Could you add 1 + 2 + 3 ..... + 100 in 10 Seconds?

Well if you think about it 1 + 100 = 101 and 2 + 99 = 101
So all you need to do is 101 x 50 = 5050.
Now you can tease your friends with this

Old Project
Sigh, a little more than 2 years ago, I set out to build a walker robot for my Final Year Project. Seeing this pic brings back memories of my Spike. I hope he is well and the nice Lab ppl are treating him well.
Fishie info
The following are what I observed what I look at my fishies
- They eat what I feed
- They scan for food that sink to the bottom, dig it up and feed on them
- They have a strong tendency to do the same for their poop
- They spit out poop when they realised that its poop
- They poop an hour after feeding
- When they poop, you will notice a slow motion brown substand that gradually get longer and longer. Eventually it will fall.
- If my fishies are hungry enough (98% of the time they are), they will feed on the poop as it drops
On a dull side, my prawn is just chilling out most of the time. You wont know if he is realy dead or just chilling as he wont move. But at least he doesnt eat his poop.

Human evolution
Humanity may split into two sub-species in 100,000 years' time as predicted by HG Wells, an expert has said
Evolutionary theorist Oliver Curry of the London School of Economics expects a genetic upper class and a dim-witted underclass to emerge.
The human race would peak in the year 3000, he said - before a decline due to dependence on technology.

How to avoid getting caught by speed camera
A massive flaw in a new generation of speed cameras means motorists can avoid fines and points on their licence simply by changing lanes.
The Home Office admitted last night that drivers can avoid being caught the by hi-tech 'SPECS' cameras which calculate a car's average speed over a long distance.

BMI inverse porpotion to IQ
It is bad for your blood pressure, knocks years off your life and is a strain on your heart. Now scientists have discovered that gaining weight lowers your intelligence.
The findings follow last week’s government figures that show Britain as the “fat man” of Europe, with nearly a quarter of adults and more than 14 per cent of children under 16 classified as obese.
The new five-year study of more than 2,200 adults claims to have found a link between obesity and the decline in a person’s cognitive function. The research, conducted by French scientists, which is published in this month’s Neurology journal, involved men and women aged between 32 and 62 taking four mental ability tests that were then repeated five years later.
The researchers found that people with a Body Mass Index – a measure of body fat – of 20 or less could recall 56 per cent of words in a vocabulary test, while those who were obese, with a BMI of 30 or higher, could remember only 44 per cent.

Deep Fried Coke
DALLAS -- There are fried Twinkies and even fried candy bars.
Now, vendor Abel Gonzales Jr. has come up with a new artery-clogging concoction for the State Fair of Texas. It's fried Coke.
Gonzales deep-fries Coca-Cola-flavored batter. He then drizzles Coke fountain syrup on it. The fried Coke is topped with whipped cream, cinnamon sugar and a cherry. Gonzales said the fried Coke came about just from thinking aloud.
Gonzales' diet-buster wins the creativity honor at the second-annual Big Tex Choice Awards Contest.

Rock Band names
Do you know that
DEPECHE MODE - from the name of a fashion magazine, meaning hurry up fashion
THE EAGLES - originally called TEEN KING AND THE EMERGENCIES , they liked the American sound of Eagles and the way it was aligned with THE BYRDS who had a great influence on them.
'NSYNC- Justin's mother came up with the name. N is the last letter in Justin, S is the last letter in Chris, Y is the last letter in Joey. N is actually from James Lance Bass because Chris gave him the nickname 'Lansten'. Since Lance doesn't end with a N, they used his nick name, Lansten. C is from J.C. That's how they came up with 'NSYNC. (info from T.J. Gernon, Illinois & Andrea in San Diego) The whole thing is, of course, a play on In Sync - a term which comes from the movie industry - meaning when the picture & soundtrack are properly aligned or synchronized.
OASIS - local British origins: a Manchester cab company, a chain of women's clothing stores, a local Indian restaurant and more likely a local club that The Beatles played in during their early years (the band are avowed Beatles fans)

I post this a long while back... Cant believe its the most popular video on youtube
Fish tube
As I look around for tips and ways to improve my little babies life, I stumble onto this little pic. Apparently its a tube that sucks up water till there is no air inside. The little fishie (in this case goldfish) are able to swim up the tube and get a overview of their pond.
I wonder if there is a smaller version of this for my fish tank

IE7 toolbars
I never like IE. I did briefly used it back in 2000 when amazingly IE5 were able to load much faster. But that largely attributed it to be intergrated with Windows. Anyhow above is the new IE7. It is littered with toolbars that various site would make you install them.
get Firefox. You know you want it

Actroid DER2 is an upgraded version of Kokoro’s previous fembot, Actroid DER, who has made quite a name for herself by providing services at a number of events, including the 2005 World Expo. Compared to the previous model, DER2 has thinner arms and a wider repertoire of expressions. The smoothness of her movement has also been improved, making it now even more likely for the uninitiated to confuse her with an actual human being.
Kokoro intends to rent Actroid DER2 to companies and events. The basic rental fee is expected to be 400,000 yen (US$3,500) for 5 days, plus extra fees for technical support, delivery and choreography changes. For those who can’t cope with a sayonara after 5 days, there is a late fee of 80,000 yen per day.
You could almost feel that robo-prostitution is coming soon.... Run while you still can

-8 Rainbow neon fishes (My babies)
-1 Prawn (my tank cleaner)
-1 Sea plant (The air supply)
-1 pack of blue gravels (Ermm just gravels in blue)

I had everything all nicely set up and am pretty impressed by my tank so far.

Oktoberfest
Couple of days back, a large group of colleagues and myself went to the Paulaner for their Oktoberfest event. We all thought that we are there for just the sausages and the beer but ended up having so much fun, we would be coming back next year.
For starters the special brew beer is amazing. Its one of the tastiest beer I have ever tried and it comes in a 0.5 ltr or a 1 ltr selection which is satisfactoring. The sausages were deliciously cooked.
And in the middle of our meal came a bunch of Traditional dressed Germans with musical equipment in tow. They played and sang German songs and dance around laughing and singing. We ended doing pretty much the same without knowing the actual words. Somehow this makes us all drink more beer and the process repeated itself. I would like to go on more in details, but I think its better if you were there to experiences...
Now does anyone want to celebrate St Patrick day as well?
