A quick haircut

RSAF day is tomorrow. There would be a massive parade going on BUT I AM ON LEAVE.

Anyhow, I am currently on course and that means I enter thru the main gate everyday.
There is a constant fear of bumming into the legendary RSM.

Thus I went for a haircut today. I decided to try one of those $10 - 10 mins cut. And since its off peak now, there wont be any queue. There are options for 2 such shops just belong my place. EC Cuts or QB House. Remember those wars on trademark infringement. Eck.

Looking at both of them, I decided to just pick one since they all looked the same.
SO off to EC cuts I went.

Well its quite interesting to walk in and being greeted with a slightly mispronouced "Konnichiwa". Which reminds me of the movie "Taxi 2" by Luc Besson.
KO NINI WAAAA

Anyhow, I sat down and told the nice lady to trim here and there. Much of the rest of this time, nothing much happened except my hair dropping around. Till the ending part.....

In the past, when I visit the old fashioned barber, they would use a rough brush to scrub off my cut hair along with my broken scalp. Then came a time, I visited hairsalon, where my head is comfortably scrubbed with shampoo and warm water. And just an hour ago, My head was vaccum cleaned. They took a long tube with brush attachment and began sucking my head cleaned. For a minute there, I saw myself like one of those pet-styling shop.

I guess I will try the other shop the next time.

Twister Skyscraper

MALMO, Sweden (Aug. 27) - The Nordics' tallest skyscraper was officially opened Saturday with prize-winning Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava surveying the view from the 54th floor.

With its spectacular 90-degree twist, Turning Torso consists of nine stacked cubes, each turned slightly.

The bottom three cubes will be office space and the top six contain 147 luxury apartments. Many residents, who are expected to move to the rented apartments in November, will have a view overlooking either the flat farmland of Skane, Sweden's southernmost province, or the Oresund strait and Denmark.

Doom the movie

Games after games have been transformed into movies by the money crunching industry of holiday. However, I am glad that they have been more selective with their selections nowadays. Better than the earlier Streetfighter movies. yucks.

It would be interesting to see THE ROCK, the star of the show battling mutants and so on. I probably catch it for the fun of it. Brainless energy and blood feast. Just pure entertainment.

Chinese Try to Get Chimp to Quit Smoking

found this on yahoo news

XI'AN, China - The handlers of a smoking chimpanzee in a zoo in northwest China are trying to get her to kick the habit.

The 26-year-old female chimpanzee has been smoking for 15 years. Her mate died recently, which caused her to smoke even more.

Now, the chimp's keepers are worried about her health as a result of her intense smoking. So, they're trying to give her milk instead of cigarettes.

She started smoking years ago by picking up butts from tourists.

About my fights

Recent events led me to dig up old stories from my childhood. Many of which are not pleasant and would have scare off any parents instantly and in turn prevented me from dating their daughters. Why you may wonder, well I was a terror when I was in primary school. And terror is too much a mild term here.

I remember I cause alot of mischief. So much that my best bud heard about my name before he event knew me back then. Kinda like my name strikes fear. Till today, I am not too sure some of my old friends (like kopiwriter) knew the whole crime I ever commited.

I fought almost every year, I stole from many in my class, I pour stuffs into their water bottle, I left their bags under a tree of red ants, I made 2 friends quarrel just to see the fun of it, I shot paperbullets till they cry, I destroyed my friend's fav pencilbox, etc.... i can go on and on

I am sure many will read and wonder if those unknown acts that happened to them are done by me. Yes you out there, I am sorry for all those shit. I was pure evil then, I did it for amusement and revenge. No need to question why I picked on you, I just did because I was petty. Smallest thingy worked me up.

The most common sin I was known for was that I fought alot. May the opponent be bigger than me, smaller than me, younger or older, it doesnt matter. I aint fussy. It just that I din like you alot back then.

Anyway after a phonecall with my dear, I looked back at all this and found what triggered all this chain of events. In my 1st year at school, I din mix very well with the Chinese community. I aint exactly the kind who sticks to color. My good friend back then was Fadz. And he hangs out with a couple of Malays and Indians. After some time of getting to know them, they (with exception from Fadz) began picking on me.

It lasted for a real long time. I gave up explaining my bruises, the cuts and my broken pencil to my mom. I was being tortured but I aint going to cry and hope my mom will give him a shouting. So I did what I had to do to get even. Since they are big in numbers, full frontal would be silly. The only solution would be stealth. I sneaked around when no one is around and stole their stuffs. Its amazing how quickly bullies are reduced to tears when they found their favourite pencil cases gone.

Soon after, I became far more creative and adventureous. I stole one of the bullies stuff and hid it in another bullies bagpack. They started fighting and oh its so wonderful to see them hit each other. Oh btw, the stuffs I stole I never kept. Since I cant stand the sight of them, I always ended up throwing their stuffs into the school pond. Anyway, after each plot went successfully with the gang falling apart, I upped my operation towards the kingpin.

His name is Vinash. I still remembered him. I wanted him one-on-one. I challenged him and he accepted. We fought many times and not once there was a clear victor. Those recess bells always rang too soon. But opportunity arrived soon enough. He was running down this sandy slope. hehehehehehe. I leave this to your imagination.

With him bleeding badly on both his kneecaps and arms, his mom thought that someone was bullying him. She changed him to another stream and I never get to see him again. And I became his bully. Such a weird turn of events.

Anyhow from that day onwards, I told myself that I would never be the victim again. If I am push, I will push back harder. If I am punch, I will punch harder. Never again would I be the losing end.

Looking back now, I never regret my actions. I did what I had to. If I have a son now and he is made to fight. I would be proud if he could stand up and beat the crap out of his bully. He has my support and I wont even punish him.

Bluetooth adverts

Just slightly under 2 years ago, 6 team members along with myself were assigned to come up with a product or service which we can market and made to write a hundred pages report along with multiple presentations to convince our would-be investors.

This simple project took up most of our time back then. We din quite gotten along too well after that and not too many of us kept in contact after that. Anyhow, at the very start of it, we each have to come up of 3 ideas (a total of 21 ideas) and try to find something we like. In the end, my primary idea was selected. It was called InfoGear.

I had a vision to install a bluetooth broadcasting device onto bus stop where giant adverts are displayed. It will constantly broadcast bluetooth ads to any device that wants to listen. Much like handling phamplets out on the streets but in a more effective and creative way. Never did I expect someplace out there, someone actually did it.

Tsk tsk, I should have patent this idea. Anyhow, I did foresee that bluetooth ads will also be the new spam.... *evil grin*

Guess what

Here guess what this is?

Wilkie Wonka i like

This is prehaps one of the most amusing and highly anticipated show of the year. I am so glad to catch it recently.

It brings me back to my good old childhood where an hour of classes was set aside per week for reading lessons. Needless to say, we always hide our teens magazines or comic between the pages and pretend to be interested. Had it not been for the monthly quiz we have to take I would not have read that wonderful piece.

No spoilers

Johnny Depp's performance was amazing. I just cant imagine how he can morph himself into so many different roles. His protrayal of Wilkie Wonka was scary I feel. The large wide smile along with those perfect teeth creeps me out. It sorta reminds me of MJ too. I somehow wonder why.

Tim Burton imagination has never been better ever since he did Big Fish. The amazing technicolors of the factory were surrounded by the greying town city which gives the impression of a fantasy world found in a real world. Much like Disneyland, Skywalker Range or even MJ Neverland.

I cant seem to stop finding reference from that movie and MJ

Anyhow the only complaints I do have are those of the oompas loompas. (I din check the spelling) Their endless signings breaks the flow of an otherwise good show. I guess Tim Burton would have left it out, had it not been found in the book. Sighs. You cant win them all.

Still its a good watch.

Hey Edwina, if you are reading this, I would have catch it with you. Too bad you aint around. Do have a great time in Korea. Study hard, but dun forget to have fun.

time to burn some offerings

Recently the place where I worked (I am no longer allowed to mention where) has been having alot of incidents. There are multiple small incidents which causes alot of delay but of late some serious incidents have causes severe injuries.

Which brings to mind this..... I walked into the crew room at the start of august looking for spoons. But all the drawers I pulled out either contains red candles or paper money. I thought it was weird but din quite bother by it.

It now occur to me that those stuffs were meant to be burnt. Several seniors had told experience that after burning the offerings, the peace and harmony will be restored. Honestly, I am never the superstitious type and cant really be bothered. However if the peace can be restored, it might worth the trouble.

What did Nathan ask?

You probably have been wondering like I have, during every single NDP.
The President, S R Nathan would inspect the guard-of-honour and would always stop at an unsuspecting soldier and ask them something in particular?

Since the election is round the corner, he is probably saying "Vote for me?"

What do you think he says?

I saw an old man with a young girl

Last night at zouk I saw an image which stuck on me till morning.
I saw this an old man, Caucasian with white hair, specs and probably in his 50s.

He was not alone.

In his arms was an asian babe whom appears to be in her late 20s or early 30s. Whoooooo!!!

SO this thought came to me. 30 years later, I wished to be in his shoes. Walking into zouk with a hot young chinese girl. I will be holding her hand happily, to the envy of everyone.

I would whisper to the girl, that everybody here is looking at me.

and she would scream back at me, "Dad, stopped holding my hands!!! Everyone is looking!!!!!"

the atomic bomb was dropped on Hiroshima.

This brought a swift end to the war with the Japanese but not without consequences.
It showed to the world the might of a single deadly bomb.
It showed to the world the horror it caused.
And for those that survived, it caused them endless pain.

Yes , yes we probably heard that the Germans were also researching on that area and the american had to beat them to it. But all this 60 years of history, how sure are we on the truth of this issue. Could the Germans actually completed their research in time? Could they have accomplished it at all? We all dont know.

What we do know is that the history books are always written by the victors of the war. Which is in effect, a one sided story. Give 20 years from now, the real purposes behind the Iraq war would have been forgotten and replaced by the American truth.

Anyway I guess what I am trying to say is that atomic bomb was a devastating weapon. It should never been used. Its evil beyond doubt. Now with Nuclear technology the fear is even greater.

The weird thingy on my left arm

Its been 5 days now. Strangely I cant quite recall how it happen, but it did.

I was working the night shift and took a little break after dinner. Sitting in the crew room, I stretched my arms to yawn out of boredom. Then I saw it. A tiny but noticable swell was there on my left arm.

Upon examination, I saw something dark sticking out of it. Something that look like a splinter. My fingers squeezed around the surrounding area hopping to burst it like a pimple. It din happen. Of course, I am slow to react to it. I kept squeezing, the strange thingy kept popping out and the pain was intense. Kept this process repeats 5- 6 more times before I stopped.

Then I went around asking if I know where I can get a tweezer or even a nail clipper. For the largest hangar I ever in, none of these were even available. sheesh.

So came a friend of mine who decided that I was squeezing wrongly and volunteer himself to help me with all this. He gave the longest squeeze ever, I thought my arms are going numbed but I guess I am sadist to pain.

Slowly it came out. Real slowly. Anyhow, I thought its over.
Only for the swell to grew much larger for the next few days.

Thinking back, it din felt like a splinter that was trapped in me.
Cos while I was holding it, it felt soft like an organic thingy.
I finally figure out that some bee or hornet or something pokey insects had stung me.
Which would be weird since, I should felt intense swelling and pain.

And all I got is a small swell. Thinking back, I probably have immunity from insects bites and stings. I can go to a outdoor camp without any protection and came back with only 2-3 mosquitoes bites. Whoo hoo, they probably think I am one of them.

Well anyway till this morning the swelling has not gone down. So I spent the time sqeezing it some more and found another thing sticking out. I went to my sis room to grab her tweezer. (I wonder what she used it for??) I got a firm grip of that stuff and slowly pulled it out.

I look at it. Its about 5mm long, whitish yellow. Soon after that the swell totally flattened. I am cured, I am cured.
All this came with training from pimple squeezing.
heh.

More helicopters

Since we were on the topic of helicopters. Here is one that I hope to see it lift off into the air. It will be crazy, but hey where the fun in you

Strange day

"Its the opening of hell doors tonight, midnight", said my close buddy.
What midnight? 20 mins time? I questioned back.
He looked at me and wink, "yups"
darn, I thought, it had to be on the 5th of August.
Then he turned and advised me to reach home before midnight to be safe.

Yikes

Now I know why most of my friends said that I was pure evil.
Perhaps I really am.

What I do

For those who has been reading this blog and wonder who is this mystery guy putting up all this crap, I am sad to say you probably wont learn much more of me. I like to keep my private life private.

Anyhow, you will be pleased to know I am going to show you what I currently doing. Right not after 3 years of studying, I have returned to the National service as a qualified aircraft technician to finish up the remaining of it. You can find the noisy helicopters which I serviced to come from Sembawang airbase. A real nice place located above a golf course and topped with a country club.

I used to service the aircraft type UH-1H. Its a wonderful bird which never fails in 30 years of its services. However, its considered old since it flew during the vietnam war and would be replaced by the newer superpuma. The SP is much bigger and has 2 engines instead of 1. Its consider safer but frankly I still believed the UH-1H is much better.

A colleague of mine whom I have known since poly, has lost his mom this afternoon. We are all deeply sad to hear that and joined him in grieving. This came at a very unfortunate time for him. He had just graduated and is still serving his remaining National Service term.

Our nice Encik has given 3 days of compassion leaves and will be passing the collection around for the 'white gold'.

For his sake, there will no futher blogging today.
