Well you cant take your eyes of it and it would distract you from your work

Sailing movies watchlist

Once again, I been thrown to sail the open seas.

And though I brought lots of movies, too many events onboard occur that prevents me to finish the whole list.

Anyway here are my reviews

Garden State was written and directed by Zach and I must say its a pretty good attempt. I have yet to catch the other movies with him in it, but this is a refreshing start from his goofy doctor stint. In this movie he play a emotionless man who slowly opens up after his mom funeral. Natalie Portman was a charm to watch and you cant help but wish you are dating her.

Next I tried catching Eternal Sunshine for the Spotless mind. I probably shouldnt have done so straight after Garden state. Cos its another arthouse flair and my brain needed a break. Which is probably why I stopped midway and started a marathon of Futurama. Anyway, this is a story about a man who erase his memory of his failed relationship only to meet her again. Its quite painful to watch, but i knew i would complete it.

After I reached shore, I made it home and caught Deja Vu. A much needed action movie I could use. The sci-fi portion makes little scene, but its fun to see things go boom. I wont review the plot here, cos its would spoil your fun.

And lastly, unrelated to sailing. I spend saturday catching the Simpsons Movie. As Homer would "kindly" put it why are we idiots paying for a movie when we can get it for free at home. Still, I never see so much laughter crammed into 90 mins. Never enjoy so much fun for a while now.

Long egg

Yes its another egg article.

Apparently this is real. I think

Broken toe

Just last week, I was scrambling to have my breakfast, read the papers and catch my coffee in a short timespan of 10 mins. It also happen to be 6am in the morning. Which I had to get up early for an early sailing trip.

In my rush, I ran and accidentally kicked hard at the large TV stand. Immediately I was overcome with pain and had to sit down and hold on to my last toe. The pain was bad enough to get me limping the rest of the day.

Well if you know me, I am the total opposite of paranoid. Cos for the next few days, the pain gradually subside enough for me to walk properly. I completely forgotten about it for a while now.

Till today when I was holding on to my 2 feet while reading the articles online. (its one silly habit) I found myself rubbing my pinky toe and the pain was still there. In fact, if I press it hard enough I can feel the same intense pain I felt back then.

This is crazy. I hope it aint broken, cos I aint gonna visit the doctor over this.

Teen comedy anyone?

Anyone fancy watching this teen comedy with me?

Will buy you popcorn and drinks

Fight Club

As I left my buddies (who were busily collecting Kill points) at a little known place in Katong to take the cab home an hour ago, I witness a sight I have not seen for a while now.

Boys fighting Boys. And when I said boys, I do means boys. These punks are no more than 17-19 years old.

Apparently, a group of them were happily gathering near the main road "minding their own business" when suddenly another group turns up and WHACK them from behind. In a short moment, 2 of them were floored, several more continue the punching among themselves, a pair of fighters were seen holding punching stance but merely stood there and a guy in pink was seen running pass me.

Its quite amusing what is going through these boys' minds these days. There was a road block a short distance away and still they do not hesitate for a moment. Ahhh well I guess I am too old to understand them.

In any case, after the fighting ended, I happily found a cab with a driver who cant stopped talking about the incident. Guess he had a good view of the fight. I smsed my dear friends who hurriedly down to catch the aftermath. But I guess they would have already fled the scene.

Yipee ki yay

I am glad to have caught Die Hard 4. Always good to see good old John McClane killing bad guys the old fashion way. And of course the ever so great one liners.

I guess what I love about this installment is that, it doesnt flood the show with over-exasperating stunts or endless CGI effects. The movie was kept simple enough with punches, gunshots and good old fashion Kaboom...

Could they make die hard 5? Bruce Willis still looks young enough

Love me, if you Dare

Love me, if you dare or Jeux d'enfants

I caught this wonderful movie again on Art Central. Had always wanted to watch it once more but procrastination got the better of me.

As summarise "As adults, best friends Julien and Sophie continue the odd game they started as children -- a fearless competition to outdo one another with daring and outrageous stunts. While they often act out to relieve one another's pain, their game might be a way to avoid the fact that they are truly meant for one another."

Its one heart pulsing ride from the start to the end. A captivating story that makes you want to laugh and cry both at the same time. But nevertheless a daring love story for all to envy.

Ah the romance of French films

sick man

I have been coughing for a week now. And noooo I dun think it was pass from a particular someone.

Anyway, I am wondering if this could have been dengue. Cos the fever seem to persist daily. Every time I thought I am sick enough to see the Doc, the fever will subside and I "became" well enough for work. Rats.

But strange enough it would be back to haunt me when work ends for the day. Grumbles.

Well, I wasnt feeling too well (or too bright) today. But I had to go down to Shipyard and help move tons of equipment. After all that, my body was aching tired and true enough the fever starts to kick in.

Arghs. Think I have to endure this torture for tonite. Have a dinner appt.

Never be lonely

I wish for all

Lovely buds as always. Even in Opera

Seed of a pen

What happens when the pencil you used gets too small for writing.

Well plant it into the soil, give some water and care and you get a nice little plant.

PS. I advise against the bad habit of nibbling on the end of the pencil while still in used

Zach braff

I think I say this many times. I am a huge fan of Zach Braff. His goofy comedy in Scrubs has made me sit up.

I guess we share the same over the top day dreaming....

Anyway, he has a new movie out, The Ex, which seems promising on the trailer.

However I should get about watching his last 2 movies first. Both Garden state and the Last kiss has been lying around for too long. Perhaps on my next cruise.

If anyone has caught any of them. Let me know if it is any good

Little Verjeans

My dear married friends, the Verjean are expecting their first born.

I was thrilled to learn this. Eejean had tried to contact me on a few occasion today but I was unavailable due to my retest for IPPT. Oh and I pass my IPPT too. Now wondering if I should try for Silver....

Anyway back to the main topic. Eejean excitedly told me the news when I called back. She said that come next year, probably in March, there would be little verjean running around.

I did warned her, that I would surely spoil her kid. Be prepared for Uncle Adrian (argh)

IST or Civic

How to choose?

I love a compact car. And the Toyota IST fits me perfectly. Unfortunately a new model is coming out soon and now in the market there is left with the used car.

I always love the Honda Civic too. The current model rocks but even model is still quite attractive to me.

So many decisions to make
