Swim back home
After a long deliberation, I had little choice but to move my fish tank back. I am due to move my office and it had to happen at a time when I am not in sg. Oh yes, if I fail to mention, I would be in France rather soon and move miss some birthdays.
Sorry CB, you know I care.
Anyhow, the move began today. And it was not without certain difficulties. I had to empty all the water from my tank. Its not possible to lift 30 ltrs of water by myself.
In the midst of it, I found some baby prawns. My cherry were pregnant and given birth. I rescue like 8-10 of them and might have kill 10 more in doing so. Cant help it, they are so tiny. I dumped them all into this little container
And with another container, I seek to place my 9 danios, 1 molly, 2 cory, 1 yellow sucker and 1 guppy. It did occur to me after I move them here that they would be a little low on oxygen. Opps.
Here is the last pic I took of my fish tank just at the turn of 7pm. At this hour, all lights are automatically switched off and some guy sitting nearest to that door would normally go and turn it back on. I caught this at the right moment.

Jokes time
At Sydney University, there were four students taking Organic Chemistry. They did so well on all the quizzes, midterms and labs, etc., that each had an "A" so far for the semester. These four friends were so confident with the finals approaching that the weekend before, they decided to go down to Canberra and party with some friends there. They had a great time. However, after all the hard partying, they slept all day Sunday and didn't make it back to Sydney until early Monday morning - the morning of their final exam!
Rather than taking the final then, they decided to find their professor AFTER the exam and explain to him why they missed it. They explained that they had gone to Canberra to do some research in the ANU archives for the weekend with the plan to come back in time to study, but, unfortunately, they had a flat tyre, on the way back, didn't have a spare, and couldn't get help for a long time. As a result, they only just arrived now! The professor thought it over and then agreed they could make up their final exam the following day. The guys were elated and relieved. They studied hard that night - all night - and went in the next day at the time the professor had told them.
He placed them in separate rooms and handed each of them a test booklet, and told them to begin. The first problem was worth five points. It was something simple about free radical formation. "Cool," they all thought in their separate rooms, "this is going to be easy." Each finished the problem and then turned the page.
Question 2 (for 95 points): Which tyre?
Long sailing
The sailing last pretty long. Though it could have been shorter if not for a particular important person.
Anyway I lasted 8 hrs on a boring trial before napping and proceeding the remaining 8 hrs working the final 4 trials. I must say, our endurance surprises me.... But well we are all happy and thats a good thing.
Oh and it was particular dark outside the ship at night. Saw a couple of shooting stars which make it worthwhile.

off sailing and fussy ppl
Once again, I would be sailing the oceans. Its going to be a "short" trip. So leave, dont miss me too much.
Anyhow, I had a long long conversation with someone who has been single for ages. I had tried to intro him someone, but though he thinks she is attractive decided to nitpick at other areas. In fact, just couple of weeks ago, he bummed into someone i know. Lets called her zebra.
Anyway, zebra is quite a looker. several guys tot she is cute. in fact she is tall and specky, a babe to those boys who look up to teachers. Anyhow, she has one minor "flaw". Her arms are just a little hairy. And my dear fren just cant stop talking about it. FOr goodness sake, hair can be removed.
I am beginning to believe that those who have been single for long or has never been attached start to have this image of an ideal mate. Someone that possibly doesnt exist. Its quite sad this way....

BigDog quadruped robot
A long time ago, this blog was dedicated to an update of my Final year project. Of which my little robo Spike was my research into a 4 legged walking machine. Now Spike was not smart and could barely walk well. (thinking back, i do have the videos somewhere and maybe i shld youtube them)
Anyway, this is a heavily funded research on a biological walking platform. It relies on inputs to its circuit network to factor in its next movement. Very much like a human does. What is the major different as compare to a normal walking robot is that it doesnt have any programming or sensors. Its an instinctive network.
The future looks scary now.

ouchie + toyota
Hey there, if you are reading this. I do hope your fingers are better now. Scare the hell out of me.
Anyway, was cruising in a 3 yr old corolla altis. realise that despite the age, this car perform much smooter and better than some of the current new cars out there. its pick up is moderate to good, its top speed is amazing fast and also its very quiet.
I guess the years behind the sunny has gotten me deaf. perhaps i should be less peddle friendly too but well, old habits die hard. I think the only drawback of the toyota is that i feel the handling to be sluggish. keeping in lane seems to take more effort and not sure why the slipping occurs.
However this is one good car and I could only hope the new Corolla Altis which the Elf is promoting to be better. I want to test drive that.
in the meantime, i leave you with the Wallflower, performing One Headlight

Lotus vs Apache
The Lotus Exige is one of my favorite cars in the world. Only slightly beating its elder sibling the Elise. Anyhow, this is one raw car where most of the interiors are known as "accessories". In other words, your aircon, power windows, CD player are all optionals. The idea is that this is a race car and the lighter it is, the better.
There is absolute no comfort in driving one in a normal city roads. You would feel the raw road bumps. The lack of a comfortable seating and proper airconditioning makes you wonder why you would spend on this good looker. Well its a race car! With good cornering and fast acceleration. So well, it can probably avoid a missile lock from an Apache. We wont know for sure, until TopGear found out about this for us.
Sweet!

Things That Are (Almost) Impossible To Do With Your Body
Neatorama had a neat article of things that a majority of ppl could not do with their body. The thought of that makes you want to try. Now dun deny.
Here are some which I can do.
1. Raise 1 eye brow
2. wiggle my ears
And these are the ones I cant
1. Lick my elbow or touch my nose with my tongue
2. Gleeking
3. Twitch my nose
4. strange tongue tricks
5. tickle myself
The remaining.... I dare not try
anyway i leave you with a video of a girl performing tongue tricks
Makes you wonder if she kisses well too :P

moving the fish soon
Its been a tough choice. I would love to pamper and talk to my little babies as I work but for now, I feel that the best option is to move them home.
There are several problems I foresee.
I have yet to inform my mom on this. It might not be good news to her.
And then the bigger headache of moving them. I would need to empty all the water. Need to put my babies in little containers. Need to drive slowly. Need to refill the tank and let the particles settle down. Need to plan all this in 1 day.
Boy this is going to be fun.

moving the fish
I was told that my office would be moved in April. Excited was not the feeling I felt. But rather the heavy weight of the heart. After all it has been 2 years since I first planted my flag at this spot.
A nice spot located next to the door, with my back facing a wall and a small gap for entry. It was one of the better spot where there are sufficient privacy and plenty of legroom. Most of all, its where I placed my 30 liter fish tank.
The moving would be a pain. I have to pack up all the items by end March as would not be around for most of April. Till now, I have no idea how would I get about to move this tank of mine. It weights close to 50kg and though I could technically lift it, its impossible to do much more as the water within would definitely spill. I might even dropped this tank.
The only way around this would be to immigrant the little ones all onto a smaller home, while I empty the tank water. With the tank lighten, I could easily move this vessel to its new spot and from there slowly relocated my babies.
Now comes to the other thing, I wont be around when this moving occurs. Though I could trouble my colleagues, I rather not. So comes to the question, should I teleport my tank home???
oh help me
