Ever wonder how beer is made?

I bet most of you would say hey I do know how beer is made. Well so did I.... I also ponder why do monks make beer in the monastery. Crazy I tot. Aint it a scared place for prayers and quiet reflection???? Do they have friday nights off and make merry?
