when my time comes

I just spend time with someone who lost her grandma. It remind me deeply of my mama when she passed away. The sadness would perhaps fade but the memories of my dear mama would stay with me.

I thought about my mortality. After all, we wont live forever and would no doubt return back to our maker. (mind you I am typing this when I am half drunk)

I know what I want when my time arises.

If I am in a stage of coma and that I depend a machine to live on, I would like my dear CB to be the authority to turn off the machine and let me move on. I would have entrust this to any of my family but I knew that they would keep me alive even when the smallest glimpse of hope is there. Which is why I entrust this to my CB only, for I know I could count on him to pull the plug.

I do also know my close knit family would like to have their remains exhume and placed in the church where Mama rested. i did joke with my cousin once there since we are the tallest, we would like our remains be placed at the highest lot. Quite sure our descendant would be tall too. However, I am a free spirited person. Keeping me there for eternity would not be good. I would prefer if my ashes could be thrown to the sea, where I could freely roamed around.

Lastly, please do not keep all of my stuffs I leave behind. Most of it is junk which I like, but nevertheless still junk. Look thru my stuff , take what you need and give the rest away. Much like my body, if any parts of it could be donated to someone else, let them take it. They probably need it more than I do.

To end this entry, I do hope everyone come to my wake/funeral with smiles. Play a funny movie, a chirpy music and place a silly photo of me in front my coffin. I rather hear laughters than tears. Its ok to laugh at me while I am dead, I am sure I would enjoy that.

GO study Martin

A close friend of mine whom been thru the 3 mths of BMT with me and now currently my colleague is going thru a lazy period as he prepare for his 2nd attempt on his Law exam.

So in order to motivate him, I decided that the recent comic from Zit would be sufficient.

Now off to your studies.

comedies i like and miss

There are just too many comedies I miss. I recall growing up watching, Who's the Boss and of course Perfect Strangers.

These 2 family friendly comedies are what makes my night lively as I sat in front of the google box with my family.

Shortly after, I recall enjoy the Fresh Prince. Seeing how Will Smith turn from a comedian to a good actor.

I also recall very old classic comedies like Mash, Allo Allo and Mind your language, that seeks to educate viewers through laughter.

Sadly the last few years, I only enjoy watching Scrubs. Season 7 has ended, with Season 8 going on with another broadcaster.

whats your favourite?

3in1 coffee

I been having fabulous Coffee every weekend. The joy of using my nespresso machine to brew a nice hot cup of fragrant cafe is absolutely brilliant. Its almost as simple as the usual 3in1 fare you pretty much get everywhere.

Anyhow, right here in my office, I lack the warmth of Nessie (yes I name my coffee maker too). I brew a cup of 3in1 and knew immediately that this is not the same. sighs.

Incidentally the sadness I am feeling now, remind me of this Gundam song.

*sob sob

Gosh I miss this song

CRS=Crystal Red Shrimps

When I first started my fishy business, I had planned to keep this gorgeous shrimps. They are knows as the CRS or Crystal Red Shrimps. However, the cost of owning them is crazy. For a full grown adult, the price would range from $10 to $28 depending on the grade.

Which is why I postponed my plans indefinitely and settle for a community tank with fishes and cherry shrimps.

Sadly, I miss having a nice tank in the office. Which is why yesterday, I made a haste decision and gotten a tiny tank (1 ltr). I also bought 5 baby shrimps at $2 each as my first investment.

In a way, I am so glad I din get them from the start. They are not really tough creatures about to withstand a variety of living conditions. With my experience now (and having lost like $30 in my other fishes and prawns) I do hope that this little fellows would grow up to be wonderful adults.

my first job

when i first left sec school over 10 years ago, I worked for my eldest uncle at his little paint company somewhere in Tuas.

The journey to work is a long one, taking an hour to arrive on my own accord. Later on, a new Sale girl was employed and she would pick me up from Jurong East to get us there on time. (btw this post was not abt her but well I sidetrack a little)

Felicia was nice to me, probably becos she was not much older but hard to start work to support her family. On several occasions, she would need an extra helper to carry the paints our client purchased and I would tag along to be the delivery boy. It was fun to drive arrive in the little van and race down the slope of a long road. She was a crazy driver.

Thinking back, I do miss her alittle and wondering what has happened. I do know she has left not long after my school started and well my uncle din have a good impression of her. Nevertheless she was my big sister and I would never think badly of her.

I do recall, she was going thru some personal difficulties back then. I do hope she is fine now.

Anyway back to the main topic.

there was a period just before my O level results are released. My uncle asked me what are my plans after that, which I replied to continue to study in Poly (which I did). However I did ended that if I din do so well, I would have to repeat my Os. For getting a good education is important. Somehow or rather either he was selective in listening or perhaps he believed that I would really fail my Os, that he though I would leave straight after getting my results.

I could not understand why till today. Cos within a few days, he put up an advert and gotten a replacement for me. I was then made to leave within a week and started on my holiday.

Anyhow, my replacement left within 2 weeks. Citing a small office and long traveling. And I gotten my job back. I could have work elsewhere to spite my uncle but I guess I get alot of freedom at my work and also Felicia was there to chat along.

PS. I did well for my Os (except for Chinese)

Ultimate Warrior - my hero

When I was a young impressionable child, I grew up watching Wrestling. It was shown at a daily timeslot at 10pm (yes i rem) unlike nowadays when Parents demand such violent be broadcast after 12mn.

Anyhow, I wasnt into the Hulkamania nonsense. I was more a big fan of The Ultimate Warrior.

For the longest time, I had believe that wrestling is real. That the bad guys were always out to harass the goodies and that justice would be serve. I even flip thru several sport sections hoping to read more of their stories, but sadly I cant find any.

Reading my hero's life story is a little strange. But I guess all some wrestlers go thru this and found a better place aside from fabricated entertainment.

Here is a pic of the great Hulk beaten by my hero. Oh I almost forgot, the Ultimate Warrior is legally known as Warrior now and is a motivation speaker

changes... maybe

ok its probably time to change the blog looks.

After all, its been 3.5 years +++ since this little space as sprung. Would probably take me some time to select a newer layout or if I am bored with my new jobscope, I would probably do the whole new layout myself.

The only thing is that I have not touch html for ages. not to mention, nowadays i need to know CSS as well. grumbles. call me old fashion (or lazy), but I dun think there is a need for too much control. After all, a good design is simple and intuitive.

In a quicker note, Chew On it comic is updated with new links. Dun you just love him

settling in

It hasnt been too long since I settle into my new office space. What you see here is my front door. and I am seated not too far away from here.

Anyhow, the moving has occurred during my France trip. Its good thing that I packed up everything beforehand. I could not possibly imagine that just about 3 years working in my company, I have accumulated alot of crap. There are documents that I have long thought to have gone missing, there are old brochures, christmas cards, handwritten notes, there are just too many unimportant things.

So well, I spend a good time standing infront of shredder (TMNT mortal enemy, my friend), getting rid of tons of "confidential" rubbish. After which, I pack up all my items into a few boxes and label them. When the moving occur, my nice colleagues then help me to carry up the cabinets and boxes.

oh ya, you probably recall that I moved my beloved babies home. Well, they are doing fine and the little prawns have all turn into teenagers now.

Anyhow, I been rearranging my table top every few days. Trying to get the best fengshui as well as keeping things neat for a change. But what I miss most is having a fish tank around.

To bring back the 50ltr tank is madness. Which is why I am contemplating getting a small tank just for prawns. All I need is a small 1 ltr size tank and some plants and sand like gravel and I might bring in my baby prawns there.

Hmmm should I?

sex helps

I read this article with great interest.

Its probably not written by my good fren in Perth, but well it does seem that sex solve all problem.

Thai guy: Sir, take your time to look look. Things here cheap cheap
Me: ok

Minutes later

Me: how much for this?
Thai guy: 400 Baht
Me: No 400 Baht, hmm.... I pay only 200 baht
Thai guy (sheepish smile): cannot too low, 350 B
Me: No 200 B
Thai guy: okok, I give best price. 300 B
Me: 250 B, you say cheap cheap
Thai guy: ok 280 B my final offer.
Me: ok.

Taking out the money and paying

Thai guy: Thank you, "insert some thai greeting"
Me: Merci. au revoir
Thai guy: (stun look)

Ok I think I spend too long in France. Anyhow, I also realise that I could have shorten the above into just the last 3 lines. But well, thats how my brain works

Travel stuffs

As I have previously mentioned, I came to love to travel. The following are things I must do when I do visit any country.

1. Having an ice cream while strolling in the city
2. Having a cup of coffee in a nice view of the sky/sea/city
3. Soaking for a long time in a bath tub
4. Trying local cuisine and nothing else
5. Trying road side food when possible
6. Learn to speak a few words in their language
7. Planning my return visit
