Code Geass

i stumbled upon this anime. Now I am addicted.

Its perhaps one of the best story I have seen in the longest time. No wait, its the best!

I have been a true blue mecha fan with Gundam, Macross, Full Metal Panic and such rated as a must watch. Code Geass however brings it further with the fabulous storyline and the war time strategy which the others are lacking.

Unlike the ordinary mecha show, where the ultimate weapon is used by the hero or when a GOD mode is achieved, Code Geass prefers to go about with their fights scene with tactics that I would say makes more sense.

according to california fitness. I am underweight.

An interesting machine of theirs said that though I have 13% more fats content, I am underweight by 22% due to my lack of muscle mass.

And this was conducted by a fitness trainer that looks like Gorilla to me!

Well, I do know I am not as fat as I was. Nevertheless I am 68Kg. A healthy weight and if you calculate my bmi, i am 22.

(between 18.5-24.9 is consider normal)

I was told that I need gym training and that would cost me abt $50 per month. I told them that I do sport such as outdoor running (they claim the threadmill is better), blading and badminton. But was dismiss as this sports doesnt help me at all.

What a load of crap.

Well for a gym loaded with gay like man, I am keen to avoid even if its free.

I think we all been thru this before. I been re-editing a document for the past few days. Everyday I would save it but leave the Word application open so that I can continue the moment I reach office. Oh yes, I not too ecological friendly as I refused to shut down my bloodly laptop that takes 20 mins to start.

Being an old lappie is one thing, the sys administrator and security ppl just love to add more features to it. I am surprise I could boot up with 1Gb of ram. I wonder how did my colleagues on 512 MB are handling it.

Anyhow, my morning effort has been destroyed. Word prompted that they cant do autosave as the memory is low. I tried desperately to save this into a thumb drive and that cause Windoze to swap files endlessly. Despair I hold onto the power switch and kiss my effort goodbye.

You would have thought autosave should be able to recover sufficiently. Sadly, it doesnt seem to have shown what I did and added more rubbish into the format. Makes you wonder why M$ inbuilt this feature. Perhaps becos they themselves could not trust their products.

Now at my lowest point, I have to look through the crap that I been dumped with and input the shit once more. It would have been easier if I had written a certain paragraph or so. But noooo.... this have to happen when I edit the whole 5 pages worth. Screw M$. Give me leopard on this HP machine.

I had an interesting adventure yesterday. thinking about it again makes me even more tired. yawn. (sip coffee)

I left my place at about 2pm. there is the starhub roadshow at various place and taka was the nearest to me. So I made my way down in a post lunch daze mode.

For info, I could get the corp plan for starhub for < $20 a month. Just $1 cheaper than Singtel. On top of which, there is free 24 mth caller id and free 6 mths subscription (and extra 100sms). So i tot why not. Not that I cant stand singtel no more, its just that after being a loyal customer for 10 years, i dun get as much perks as the new guy. So well, loyalty is no longer the deal. Much like work life, dun you think. When I exit from Orchard MRT, I realised I left my bloody staff card at home. Arghs. But decided to head to the roadshow to check the Q nevertheless. Hossan Leong was there singing his heart out. Kinda reminds me of this.

Anyhow, the darn roadshow at taka only sells the Samsung and not my lovable G900. Ah yes, i did mention i wanted the X1. But its coming out year end. Patience is not my virtue.

The part time guy behind the counter suggested I head to Suntec. They have the other phones there. So I went back to grab my staff pass and made my way down. When I arrived, the Q was scary. There are like over 200 ppl waiting in line and its not moving at all. I had though of giving this up.

Just then the nice SE promoter girl told me that my phone is not sold here. Whoo hoo. and suggest I head to a starhub shop to get it. The nearest being Marina Sq. So I head down to the small shop and found out that they are swapping flies. Virtually no one is there. Its likely that I would miss my free 6 mths if I sign up, but at least I get my phone.

Sadly, this is just an authorise dealer. I couldnt get my corp discount here. And he rudely told me to go down to Plaza Sing, if I wanted to wait some more. Its already way after 4pm then. Already 2 hrs is wasted. So well, if I dun get it, it would truly be a wasted trip. So I headed to PS to save my sunday afternoon.

I arrived and found a small Q with the counter jumping. I lined up and gotten 7294. and was told that the sms system would sms me when its 5 ppl to go. (it din happen) The nice staff told me I have to wait like 3 hrs. He was lying, its about 4 hrs. I was about 130 persons behind the current and decided to spend my time walking around.

After some mindless shopping, drinks and tea at Mos and PSPing ard, I settled down to watch a replay of Holland vs Russia. When my turn comes close to 8.30pm, i happily told the staff what I wanted. He kindly explained that G900 is out of stock and I would be put on the waiting list.

This I am cool with, until he said that I have to come back again to settle the payment and the registration. So I blunt out "you telling me that I waited for 3 hrs for nothing." I know its not his fault but my patience is at a all time low. Not to mention I was slightly hungry and some indian dude was elbowing me 3 times. (btw i shove him when I walked away)

He apologised once more and check with his Sup. Came back and told me that he would put me on the express Q when the phone arrives and also I get to keep the 6 mths promotion. That kind of settle me and I returned the apology.

Now all I have to do is wait for it.

The Scam

I had an interesting lunch with my fellow colleague. For those whom know them, they are James, LP, TH and XP. We were in the topic of discussing our July bonus, where LP claimed that she doesnt know what to do with it. We all suggest something for her and mine was that she treat us to Morton's (a)

Just then a lady with a dark skin tone kneel down and grab XP's arm. she plead that her husband is sick and her 2 kids are starving. XP received a shock and after some more pleading was about to open her wallet to appraise her. I turned to XP and asked if she is serious about giving.

Then turning to the lady I asked her to leave.

She plead more before the rest of us ignore her and she left soon after. (and onto her next victim, not too far down)

They were asking me why I shoo her off. I told them, that she is obviously a scammer. She looked no more than 21, I doubt she has 2 kids. She also carried a earpiece connected to a mobile in her pocket. I quite sure someone is her lookout to warn her against Police.

True enough after we left, we spotted her having some drinks with a male stranger whom have been sitting there all along. she appeared nonchalant and it was quite obvious to me thats her accomplice.

Lucky for her, she din bother us more than necessary. I would have turned to her and plead that I was poor and din strike 4D for a long time :P

Anyhow, we were wondering why she picked XP. Perhaps she looks the easiest to bluff among us. Lucky she was sitting next to me.

Blood giving + Happy Father's day

Happy Father's day to all Fathers out there. Do take this time to get enjoy your day even though you might end up paying for your family meal. But well, just take it with a pinch of salt and stop comparing to Mother's day. You din have to go through 9 months (multiply by your number of kids) of labour.

Anyhow, I donated blood on the Friday the 13th. Its exactly my 27 times as the kind nurse whom pierce me said. I was also due for my Bronze award. It was given to those who donated 25 times. A small milestone for me.

It has been 9 years since I started and I am glad to help whenever I can. I laid next to an Indian dude whom hit 94 times. I intend to beat him at that one day.

Sadly I din managed to pull in any of my friends to come along. Even when I entice everyone with a free treat. However that doesnt stop me. Till next time, I would pester you all again in Sept.

My Swatch

I had my Swatch for a really long time. I vaguely recalled that when I bought it dzus and zeri were there with me (along with a few others)

The funny thing was that I had thought that I had own this Swatch for 5-6 years. That is until, I decided to write this post and took a closer look at it. Can you believe, its in fact 10 years old today (got it in 1998).

And guess what, its still running. Apparently, it one of the first generation of Swatch Autoquartz that started in 1997. The rotor which charges the Swatch, still work fine. Although I could feel that the motion is no longer as smooth as before.

Anyway the point of this post is that, this little Swatch of mine has been my favorite. Even though the long years had taken away alot of its shine and glory, it has remained a a personal treasure of mine. It slightly resemble this design on the right but has a unique face that would always confuse CB whenever he grabs my hand and tried to read the time.

To preserve my dear Swatch, I had gotten a new leather strap to closely resemble the hard orange leather it came with. On top of that, I gotten the friendly staff there to give it a good shine. And guess what, my 10 year old watch is new again.

Now all I need is one of those expensive winder to keep the Swatch running. Anyone wanna buy me a bday gift?

prawning news

I did something bad.....

Sometime last week, I met up with my friend who was turning 29 for lunch at clementi. We then proceed to buy some grass and all...

I was somewhat happy with the new layout then. But felt that the rock (which I shall named as the Ayers rock) was out of focus as it was placed at the side.

So I itchy finger and decided to revamp it once more. I took out the long grass from the wire netting that held them in place, and daringly proceed to plant them one by one.

Of cos, I remove all prawns then to ensure their safety. Also hoping that they would be pleasantly surprise like in Extreme Makeover. Alas it was not too be

I think I screw it up quite bad. Instead of a arty lawn look, I had something that resemble Jurassic Park. Sighs.

I looked it again today and though the grass rights itself a fair bit, the brilliant look is now gone for sure. I can only hope to purchase more grass in the coming few days to redo my design.

Sakura prawns

I pop down to clementi today, only hoping to get a couple more CRS. Since they cost like $2 for the babies shrimps, I was budgeting to get only 5 more....

And then I ended up getting, a patch of grass ($5), a pump ($7) and a bag of 20 Sakura Shrimps ($16). I am so ashame of myself. sighs.

And just after I bought it, the forum were stating that sakura shrimps are merely cherry shrimps and cost twice because they are just redder.... wtf.

License to drive

Before I could start owning a car, I do hope to get one thing that represent me. Thats right, my own very license plate.

The EU plates seen in my areas, carries my namesake and sadly is becoming extinct.

So well, I do hope to be able to find one. Perhaps I would end up paying tons from a previous owner or bidding for this in a high tension auction. But I do hope to be able to obtain one and stick it to my green machine one day.
